Sanctity of Human Life Sunday was designated by President Ronald Reagan as a day to recognize those harmed by abortion, and it is a day to recommit ourselves to the protection of the unborn.

Do a pro-life Scripture discussion using the following verses:

Jeremiah 1:5 – Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you.

Proverbs 6:16-17 - There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to Him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood…

Psalm 139:13-15 - For it was You who formed my inward parts; You knit me together in my mother’s womb.  I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made…My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.

Luke 1:41 When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the child leaped in her womb.  And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.

Deuteronomy 30:19  I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live,

Proverbs 24:10-12 If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength being small; if you hold back from rescuing those taken away to death, those who go staggering to the slaughter; if you say, “Look, we did not know this”— does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?  Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it? And will he not repay all according to their deeds?

Suggest a pro-life book for your book group. If you aren’t part of a book club, read one of the following on your own:

Hand of God: A Journey from Death to Life by the Abortion Doctor Who Changed His Mind by Dr. Bernard Nathanson
