2022 Abortion Influence Education Bill

Tennessee Right to Life believes that we need to strengthen our current statute governing sex-education in public schools. The Abortion Influence Education Bill, HB 2557 sponsored by Representative Debra Moody (R-Covington) and SB 2158 by Senator Joey Hensley (R-Hohenwald) prohibits schools from allowing any entity who promotes, induces or performs abortions from teaching sex-ed in our schools.

This bill passed both the House and Senate and was signed by the Governor on 4/29/22.

Thank God for the Tennessee Representatives that made this happen. Now, moving forward, I pray that the ones teaching sex-ed will be done primarily by the children’s parents and secondarily by God-fearing educators. May the human race live long and prosper from the moment of conception until natural death.
