National Right to Life Endorses
Bill Hagerty for Election to the U.S. Senate
WASHINGTON — National Right to Life, the nation’s largest pro-life group with affiliates in all 50 states and over 3,000 local chapters nationwide, has endorsed Bill Hagerty for election to the United States Senate from Tennessee.
“National Right to Life is pleased to endorse Bill Hagerty for election to the U.S. Senate,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “Bill Hagerty supports compassionate proposals to safeguard unborn children and their mothers from the pain of abortion.”
Bill Hagerty supports the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. This legislation would protect unborn children at 20 weeks, a point by which the unborn child is capable of experiencing great pain when being killed by dismemberment or other late abortion methods.
Bill Hagerty supports the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. This Act would require that a baby born alive during an abortion be afforded the same degree of care that would apply to any other child delivered at the same gestational age.
Bill Hagerty opposes using tax dollars to pay for abortion, and he opposes taxpayer funding of abortion providers.
By contrast, his opponent, Marquita Bradshaw, supports a policy of abortion on demand, which allows abortion for any reason, and she supports taxpayer funding for abortion.
“Bill Hagerty will work to ensure all innocent human life is protected and he is committed to strengthening a culture of life throughout the nation and in the U.S. Senate,” said Tobias. “We look forward to working with Bill Hagerty to protect the most vulnerable members of the human family.”
Founded in 1968, the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), the federation of 50 state right-to-life affiliates and more than 3,000 local chapters, is the nation’s oldest and largest grassroots pro-life organization. Recognized as the flagship of the pro-life movement, NRLC works through legislation and education to protect innocent human life from abortion, infanticide assisted suicide and euthanasia.
