Planned Parenthood Federation of America announced on Tuesday, August 20, that they will no longer participate in the federal Title X (ten) family planning program because of President Trump'sinsistence that abortion providers be excluded.
This mirrors Tennessee's policy placed into effect by the Haslam Administration in 2011 at the urging of Tennessee Right to Life. That administrative policy was codified and placed into state law as the priority legislation of Tennessee Right to Life during the 2018 General Assembly. As a result, more than 10 MILLION dollars have been stricken from the budgets of Planned Parenthood affiliates in our state since 2011.
